1. Re-connect with what’s fun for you
Think back on times you have been able to fully let go and enjoy yourself. When have you had an absolute blast? Something that was so much fun you haven’t forgotten it since.
Are you a dancer? Do you love being immersed in water? Do you enjoy board games with family? Whatever it is, do it!
2. Plan fun into your schedule
It’s so easy to let fun take the backburner in our busy lives. Don’t let anything hijack that time. Make fun a priority. Schedule your weeks — and months and years too. Plan vacations and fun events and make them happen.
3. When you play, play full out
Sometimes we don’t want to mess up our hair or makeup, or we have some other excuse to keep us out of the fun — but sitting on the sidelines isn’t nearly as much fun as getting in the middle of the action. Choose to play full out. Let yourself go and enjoy!
4. Say “yes”
Try new things — especially if they scare you. A couple weeks ago I went on my first Harley ride. I’m scared of motorcycles and have resisted the invitation for quite some time. It was a blast.
5. Embrace spontaneity
Planning fun into your schedule will keep you accountable for taking time to play — but it’s important to be open to spontaneous adventures as well. Sometimes unexpected experiences turn into everlasting memories.
Now go play full out, and enjoy your life right NOW!
